Hair care logo changes for 2017
NEW YORK — The hair care company H&M is changing its logo to match the new look for its brand.
The company said Wednesday it has decided to keep its old logo, which is based on the word “Hair” and the letter “H” as it stands today, but will change the letter to a circle that represents the word, “HABIT.”
“We feel it’s the right choice for the new branding, which we believe is going to reflect our brand’s commitment to the people we serve,” said Karen P. Hickey, the company’s director of communications.
The change is due to the rise of online beauty retailers, where customers are often encouraged to shop from a larger selection of products, said Stephanie C. Lutz, H&am’s director for global digital.
H&&m already has a strong relationship with the American public with the H&ams line of hair care products, which includes a shampoo, conditioner, hair conditioner and scalp treatments.
The company’s signature shampoo and conditioner line also is popular with women of color.
“It’s important to our customers that we maintain our unique and distinctive character, Hickey said.
The name of the brand has long been a symbol of the African-American community and the country, which H&&ms has made a cornerstone of its image and identity.
The new logo will be on store and website signs in the United States and Canada beginning next month.
Hamburger Helper, the latest and most iconic of the two H&amm brands, said it has a new brand identity that reflects its mission.”
H&am will continue to be a leader in the hair care industry with the best products and the most value,” the company said in a statement.”
We look forward to a brighter future.
